Kuala Terengganu: A 21-year-old gardener is the latest person to turn himself in to the police to facilitate investigations into the Sept 8 riots.
The gardener, from Kampung Pengkalan Berangan, Marang, reported to the Kuala Terengganu police station on Friday night.
The brings the total of those who surrendered to nine of out of the 46 wanted by police since the riots in Batu Buruk.
Meanwhile, the 50-year-old welder who surrendered on Friday was released on police bail the same day.
In the incident, riots broke out around 10.15pm after police attempted to disperse a crowd of 600 which turned up for a ceramah.
The ceramah was organised by the Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (Bersih), with sveeral guest speakers including Kadilan secretary-general Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, Pas activist Muhammad Sabu and DAP representative Leong Ngah Ngah.
The riot, which lasted till after 1am, saw four policemen and three rioters injured and damage estimated at RM500,000.
