KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 13 (Bernama) — Four committee members of the Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (Bersih) have expressed their willingness to assist the police in their probe on Saturday’s illegal gathering here.
They are Dr Syed Azman Syed Ahmad, PAS vice president Mohamad Sabu, DAP committee member Ronnie Liu and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice president R. Sivarasa.
Syed Azman told reporters at Parliament’s lobby today that they had been called by the federal police (Bukit Aman) to have their statements recorded.
“Actually, we are ready to face the police anytime,” he added.
In Saturday’s incident, police were forced to use tear gas and water cannons to disperse thousands of people who attended the illegal gathering.
A total of 245 people were arrested for questioning and released after their statements were recorded.
