MELAKA, Nov 17 (Bernama) –– Those responsible for organising the illegal assembly in Kuala Lumpur on Nov 10 should be punished, said Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam.
He said action should be taken against them not only for organising the rally but also for attempting to drag the royal institution into their antics.
“They should apologise to Malaysians,” he told reporters here today.
Mohd Ali was commenting on reports saying that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin was unhappy over claims by certain parties that he and the Palace had backed the illegal rally.
The King said this in a statement issued by the Comptroller of the Royal Household Datuk Wan Mohd Safiain Wan Hasan yesterday.
Describing the organisers as “power crazy” and “irresponsible”, Mohd Ali said their action in holding the gathering had created chaos and anxieties.
