Tian Chua, three others arrested

PKR leader Tian Chua was arrested this morning for failing to stop at a police roadblock set up along Jalan Parliament.

According to eyewitnesses, the police surrounded Chua’s vehicle and forcibly removed him before arresting him at about 10.40am. Another person in the car was also taken in.
Chua had failed to stop at the roadblock and continued to drive his vehicle before the police moved in on him.
Activists S Arutchelvan and another identified person have also been arrested for trying to break the police cordon about ten minutes later.
The police have blocked all roads leading to Parliament to block members of polls reform group Bersih from submitting a protest memorandum against a proposed constitutional amendment.
