KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested PKR chief information chief Tian Chua and a PAS member soon after Bersih (Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections) submitted a memorandum to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong at Istana Negara here yesterday.
Tian Chua was detained while he was about to hold a press conference while the PAS member, Jalaluddin Abdul Manap, was taken into custody while distributing flyers.
Bersih coordinator Dr Syed Azman Syed Ahmad and Zulkifli Ahmad had earlier handed the memorandum to Istana Negara official Hasmoni Abdul Syukur.
Also in the Bersih delegation were PAS vice-presidents Mohamed Sabu and Ahmad Awang, treasurer Dr Hatta Ramli and youth chief Salahuddin Ayub, social activist Irene Fernandez and Tian Chua.
