Handover of Memorandum to National Human Rights Commission (SUHAKAM)
With regards to the above matter, on behalf of Amnesty International (Malaysia), Era Consumer and SUARAM, we would like to inform you that a memorandum will be submitted to SUHAKAM.
This memorandum will highlight the abuse of police power in stopping peaceful candlelight vigils and arbitrary arrest including 5 Malaysian Bar Council legal aid lawyers who presented themselves at the IPD Brickfield to represent the 14 individuals arrested.
The memorandum will submit to SUHAKAM at the following:
