PAS Youth Wants Suhakam To Investigate Postal Votes

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 21 (Bernama) — PAS Youth on Wednesday handed over a memorandum to the Malaysian Human Rights Commission (Suhakam), asking the commission to investigate the postal voting system which it said contained numerous weaknesses.
PAS Youth chief Nasaruddin Hasan Tantawi handed over the 11-page memorandum to Suhakam commissioner Datuk N. Siva Subramaniam.
Among others, the memorandum called on Suhakam to carry out a public inquiry to investigate weaknesses in the system during the Bagan Pinang by-election on Oct 11.
In the by-election, PAS candidate PAS Zulkefly Mohamad Omar polled 2,578 votes including 601 postal votes while Barisan Nasional candidate Tan Sri Mohammad Isa Samad obtained 8,013 votes including 3,521 postal votes.
