KOTA BAHARU, 28 SEPTEMBER, 2010: Kelantan police have given the assurance that they are ready to ensure security and order during the upcoming by-election for the Galas state seat.
Kelantan police chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi said the state had an adequate number of policemen to ensure a smooth by-election.
“There is adequate logistical strength and enough number of policemen. The Kelantan police are ready to ensure security and order during the by-election,” he told reporters at the Kelantan police Aidilfitri celebration with the people, here yesterday.
Galas is to face a by-election after PAS assemblyman Che Hashim Sulaima, 46, died of colon cancer yesterday at a Kuala Lumpur hospital where he had been admitted several days ago.
