Simon Lee is new BERSIH 2.0 Central Peninsula Vice-chair

Simon Lee Ying WaiBERSIH 2.0 is pleased to announce the latest addition to the Steering Committee – Simon Lee Ying Wai, who will assume the post of Central Peninsula Vice-chairperson.
Simon was the sole nominee in the BERSIH 2.0 Central Peninsula Election. His nomination was submitted by the Civil Rights Committee of the KL& Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH), and endorsed by Pusat Komunikasi Masyarakat (KOMAS) on 29 January 2014.
BERSIH 2.0 is pleased to welcome Simon on board for he is no stranger to the cause for free and fair elections. He has been involved in each general election since 1995, volunteering as monitor and polling and counting agent, and as an election observer representing Malaysians for Free and Fair Elections (MAFREL) in 2008 and BERSIH 2.0 in 2013.
Simon is currently a member of the KLSCAH Board of Directors, where he chairs the Social-Economic Sub-Committee. He has held positions as Treasurer and Secretary of the Youth Section in the association.
A former member of Young Malaysians Movement, where he was Secretary of the National Training Bureau, he has organised workshops, training programmes, seminars and conferences to encourage youth participation in social work.
Besides a Master’s in Business Administration from University of South Australia, Simon also has qualifications to lead auditor training based on his years of experience as a quality management system lead auditor for the medical devices and automotive industries.
He has previously volunteered as a rescuer with the Joint Civil Defence Unit.
