Thomas Fann is new BERSIH 2.0 Southern Peninsula Vice-chair

Thomas FannBERSIH 2.0 is pleased to announce that the Southern Peninsula election has been won uncontested by Thomas Fann, who will now sit on the Steering Committee as the Southern Peninsula Vice-chairperson.
Thomas was nominated by Engage – where he is the chairperson *, Johor People’s Action Group (JPAG) and Sahabat Rakyat – at the 11 February 2014 election meeting, which was observed by representatives from Johor Yellow Flame, Green Earth Society, NGO Pengerang and HOME. *Representatives from the other BERSIH 2.0 endorsing NGOs – Johor People’s Action Group (JPAG) and Sahabat Rakyat – were also there did not submit any nomination.
Engage is BERSIH 2.0’s partner in the Delineation Action and Research Team project, which will see its soft launch in Johor Baru on 22 February and the national launch in Kuala Lumpur early March.
Thomas was BERSIH 2.0’s Pemantau Johor State Coordinator. He co-organised the historic Bersih 3.0 Duduk Bantah JB.
Prior to that, he was a coordinator for JPAG, where he did new voters registration exercise and mobilised others to do the same around the country. In addition, he was part of the team that organised training for polling, counting and booth agents.
He was also involved in other civil society initiatives, serving as adviser to Himpunan Hijau Pengerang, the southern coordinator for Himpunan Hijau and co-chairperson of Tuntutan Rakyat Johor.
