The Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (BERSIH 2.0) announces that BERSIH 2.0 will be an observer in the Port Dickson by-election.
BERSIH 2.0 will monitor the Election Commission (EC), political parties and candidates in the nomination process, campaign period as well as polling process and report any misconducts or fraud.
The observations focus on:
1) Bribery and vote buying
2) Treating and gifts
3) Undue government handouts/inducement
4) Use of government machinery
5) Excessive spending or lavish and harassment
6) Intimidation, violence and harassment
7) Bias behaviour by public institutions/officers
8) Advance voting and postal voting
9) Electoral roll problems
10) Problems on the polling day

BERSIH 2.0 will initiate the Pledge of Clean and Fair Election that will be sent to all Port Dickson by-election candidates.
This pledge aims to remind all candidates to commit to a clean and fair election and not to engage in any election offences.
This pledge will be sent to all candidates today, 1 October 2018 and BERSIH 2.0 will give a three-day period for all candidates to sign the pledge and submit to BERSIH 2.0.
BERSIH 2.0 calls on all parties including the candidates, political parties, the Election Commission and the government to comply with election regulations and ensure that the Port Dickson by-election is conducted in a clean and fair manner.
