The Election Committee of the Coalition for Clean and Fair Election (BERSIH 2.0) is pleased to announce that the election of Steering Committee for the term of 2020-2022 has been successfully held today and the result of the election is as follow:

There were 19 endorsing organizations of Bersih 2.0 voted in the process, representing a 33.33% of turnout from the total number of 57 endorsing organizations of the coalition.
Thomas Fann is elected into second term as the chairperson of Bersih 2.0. Similarly, Ann Teo, Edlyn Beverly Joeman, Ngeow Chow Ying and Alex Johnson also retained their position as Vice Chair for Sarawak, Vice Chair for Sabah, treasurer and committee member.
Dato Dr Abdul Halim Yusof, the newly elected deputy chairperson, has an extensive record in the field of medicine and academics. Throughout his tenure, Dr Halim has demonstrated his readiness in many political and social activities through multiple NGOs, think-tanks and was also previously part of the Bersih 2.0 Steering Committee.
The newly elected committee member, Akmal Hisham Abdul Rahim, is an academician excelling in the field of politics and currently also an exco member of Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia (ABIM).
In his speech after the election result was announced, the chairperson of the new team of Steering Committee, Thomas Fann, thanked the outgoing Steering Committee members for their dedication and tenacity throughout their term. He bid welcome to the newly elected and retaining steering committee members for 2020-2022 and expressed hope that the new committee will take this coalition movement to boldly sail the sea of uncertainty amid the current political crisis and pandemic of Covid-19 to achieve greater heights.
